You can't cut firewood in February. Ask anybody who heats with wood. The stack that keeps a house warm at three in the morning on the coldest night of the year was cut last July — in the heat, when nothing about it felt the least bit urgent.

This Thanksgiving Sunday, we are in Philippians 4, where Paul writes rejoice always — from a prison cell. Not from a good year. From the worst one. So where does a person get that? And what has it got to do with the table we gather around?

Rejoice Always · Thanksgiving Sunday, 11 October · 10:30 Communion. Everyone welcome — whatever kind of year you have had.
